New Macs!
September 6th, 2006Now this is SWEET! A 24" iMac!
I have an older 15" iMac, the one that looks like a desk lamp, and I absolutely love it! The screen on it is beautiful and I’ve never had a problem with it. I wish I could say the same for my PC’s…one of them is completely dead and the other is on its last legs. I bought one just before I bought my iMac, the other one a year after.
The specs on the new 24" iMac features the new Intel Core 2 Duo processor which delivers up to 50 percent faster performance than the previous 20-inch iMac running industry standard benchmarks. Here are the specs:
* 24-inch widescreen LCD display;
* 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor;
* 1GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM expandable to 3GB;
* 8x SuperDrive with double-layer support (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW);
* PCI Express-based NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT with 128MB GDDR3 memory;
* built-in iSight video camera;
* built-in AirPort Extreme wireless networking & Bluetooth 2.0+EDR;
* 250GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 7200 rpm;
* mini-DVI out (adapters for DVI, VGA and Composite/S-Video sold separately);
* built-in stereo speakers and microphone; and
* the infrared Apple Remote, Mighty Mouse and Apple Keyboard.
* Also announced today: an updated Mac mini - now 5-times faster and starting at just $599!
The only thing I can see that I would want included in this bundle is a TV tuner….now that would rock!
New Mac Mini
The updated Mac mini includes:
* Intel Core Duo processors running at 1.66GHz or 1.83GHz;
* updated software bundle; and
