I have an old 2nd Gen iPod and I’ve been eager to upgrade for quite some time. I’m having a hard time deciding between the small, sleek Nano or go for the gusto with one of the 30G models. I came across this deal on refurbished iPods and thought I’d share:
Save 44% on a 20GB refurbished iPod or 46% on a 40GB refurbished iPod,
only at the Apple Store. While supplies last.

Apple’s Education store is offering a free iPod (after rebate) when you buy a Mac. As if I needed yet another reason to buy a new Mac.
I’ve got both Macs and PCs and right now both of my PCs are inoperative…but even my older iMac is still purring like a kitten. I have to say I’m a little wary of the new Intel processor and dual-booting…since I like OS X better than Windows, but the new Mac laptops are SWEET!
When do classes start???

Microsoft Xbox 360
Well, BestBuy.com finally has the XBox 360 in stock. After the fiasco with the initial launch it seems that are selling just the basic console, in addition to several options with different accessory items and games included.
I’ve played with the XBox 360 and I have to say, it’s amazing! The graphics are incredible, very realistic! I have wanted one of these since they first came out…but unfortunately, the price is just too high for me. I figured out once I bought the console, an extra wireless controller and one game it totalled over $500!
I don’t mind paying for technology but it’s hard for me to justify that kind of money for a game system. $500 is half a month’s mortgage! It’ll be interesting to see what happens to the price of these once the PS3 comes out….so for now I’ll have to be satisfied with playing with the XBox on display at Best Buy.
If you’ve got the disposable income for one, then head on over to BestBuy.com while they’re in stock!

When I first bought my iPod Shuffle a friend of mine asked me why I wanted one, since I already had an iPod. Well the iPod I have is the older 2nd generation 10G and although I absolutely love it, it isn’t always convenient to carry with me.
The Shuffle is great for using when going to the gym, or walking the dogs. I also use it at work. Not only is it small, lightweight and convenient but it prevents me from dragging my older iPod across the floor when I jump up from my desk to do something, forgetting that I’m tethered to it via the headphones. (Yes, I have done that)
One of my favorite things about my Shuffle is that I don’t need any extra cables to charge it or download music to it. It just plugs right into the USB port of either my Dell laptop or my Mac Powerbook. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
(I somehow misplaced the cable and AC adapter for my iPod and haven’t been able to charge it or update music on it for weeks. It’s not so easy to pick up replacement cables for the older iPods, what a pain!)
Right now you can pick up a 512MB Shuffe for around $69…which is a great deal! It holds approximately 120 songs which is plenty of music for a day at work. I highly recommend picking up one of these if you like to take your music with you, and you want something inexpensive and convenient.
(Click on the photo above to check out the latest prices at Amazon…they were selling the 512MB Shuffle for only $59.99!)
NOTE: If you’re thinking about the 1G Shuffle, I’d recommend spending a little more for the 1G Nano. It doesn’t cost much more, it has a color screen and a ton more features. Right now you can pick up the black 1GB Nano for only $139.99 at Amazon (the white one is a couple of bucks more)

Analysts predict a 4GB and 8GB iPod Nano with video is coming our way. But of course, as with all apple rumors, take with a grain of salt. I’m not sure if the nano screen is ideal for video’s.
