Great gift for Sports Fans!

December 12th, 2006

These life-size re-stickable figures are great for sports fans!  Check out Derek Jeter…how cool would that be for a Yankee fan’s bedroom or a game room?

You can also get football helmets for College Football teams, NASCAR cars, NFL players even Star Wars figures!  How cool would it be to have a life-size Darth Vader or C3P0 on your wall?!  Definitely a unique way to support your favorite sport or hero (or villain).  I wish they had these when I was a kid…

Pay it Forward - Random Acts of Kindness

December 11th, 2006

It seems that this is the time of year when people think about donating to charity, giving to non-profit groups or other acts of giving. Although it should be something that is practiced year-round, it is good to know that at least part of the year some thought of giving to those less fortunate comes to mind.

A random act of kindness can often began a cycle of giving. There’s a good commercial right now that shows how that can happen…although I can’t for the life of me remember what the commercial is for!  It shows little things that people do to strangers and those strangers in turn do a good deed for someone else.

A movie starring Helen Hunt, Haley Joel Osmont and Kevin Spacey, "Pay it Forward" was an exceptional example of just how far the power of giving can go.

Oprah has entire shows dedicated to the subject and recently gave audience members $1,000 with instructions that they were to give that money away to strangers.

Whether you do something simple, like pay the toll for the car in line behind you at the toll-booth…or maybe pay for lunch for the driver behind you at a drive-through restaurant….these little things can spark an ongoing cycle of giving.

Here is a great t-shirt reminding us to always Pay it Forward…(this design is available from CafePress on mugs, stickers, hats and other products in addition to t-shirts and the shop owner will use sales proceeds for random acts of kindness)

Pay it Forward

So, what can you do to start the cycle and Pay It Forward?

eBay - Great deals on new shoes

November 17th, 2006

If you are in search of a good deal on brand name shoes, a great place to start looking is Grapevinehill on eBay. They have a massive inventory of shoes and usually offer an option of both "Buy It Now" and an auction when they have multiple pairs of the same shoes for sale.

If you have a brand you are fond of, Grapevinehill most likely will have something for you. I know I personally have purchased at least half a dozen pair of shoes from them within the past few years and every single time I receive my order quickly, packaged very well and the shoes always are brand new, exactly as described.

Every order I have received in approximately two business days from the date I made my payment. They always leave feedback (often a rarity among high volume sellers) and every transaction with them has gone smoothly.

Their inventory varies, but they tend to consistently carry brands such as Dr. Martens, Keen, Eastland, Lucchese and other top quality brands. Take a look at their feedback - 100% and over 250,000 sales!

I just placed an order for another pair of shoes today…and I know it will not be my last. Grapevinehill is always on my favorite sellers list and if you buy from them, I’d be willing to bet you’d understand why.
